UAE: Nakheel and DEWA collaborate on Palm Jebel Ali substation projects worth $73.5 million

DubaiiUAE: Nakheel and DEWA collaborate on Palm Jebel Ali substation projects worth $73.5 million

The launch of this collaboration represents the most recent step in turning Palm Jebel Ali into a significant residential and recreational area.

AED 270 million will be spent on the construction of two new substations on Palm Jebel Ali by Nakheel, a member of Dubai Holding’s innovative real estate division, Dubai Holding Real Estate, in collaboration with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

DEWA will handle the project management for the bidding, awarding, and building of the two substations, which are expected to be finished concurrently with the delivery of the opulent homes.

Two 132/11 KV substations with a combined 400 megavolt ampere (MVA) power capacity will be built as part of the project to supply power to a significant area of Palm Jebel Ali, including some of the fronds and spine.

The announcement comes after earlier contracts were given out this year for the start of Palm Jebel Ali’s infrastructure, public access roads, maritime work, and villa development.

Palm Jebel Ali, one of Nakheel’s most ambitious projects to date, aims to establish a standard for waterfront living on a worldwide scale. When it is finished, it will have a major impact on Dubai’s growth in the ensuing decades. The Dubai Economic Agenda D33 is supported by Palm Jebel Ali, which was unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. It also signifies the start of a new growth corridor in the Jebel Ali region.

We are confident that the knowledge and abilities of DEWA, our strategic partner, in the industry will allow us to lay a strong foundation as the prestigious Palm Jebel Ali takes shape, stated Nasser Al Awadhi, Chief Land Estates Officer of Dubai Holding. It represents Dubai’s steadfast goal to consistently propel advancement and make a lasting impression on the world stage.

Executive Vice President of Transmission Power at DEWA, Hussain Lootah, said, All organisations in Dubai combine their efforts to make Dubai the best city in the world to visit, live, and work in. We will continue to construct top-notch water and energy infrastructure to fulfil the highest requirements for quality, availability, and dependability in order to keep up with Dubai’s ongoing growth.

This has contributed significantly to the power transmission system in Dubai being 100% reliable and available, which has allowed DEWA to outperform other service institutions globally in the power transmission sector.

The seven islands of Palm Jebel Ali are 13.4 kilometres long, with more than 90 kilometres of seashore and 16 fronds.
