The Honourable A new master plan for Expo City Dubai was authorised by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister, and Dubai Ruler.

This plan places Expo City Dubai at the centre of the emirate’s future development. Attendees included His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and other top officials. The plan presents Expo City Dubai as a key component in the development of the emirate in the areas of trade, technology, tourism, and innovation. 

With over 35,000 residents and 40,000 professionals, Expo City Dubai the location of Expo 2020 and COP28 will serve as a global hub for businesses, investors, and tourists. Its advantageous location next to Jebel Ali Port, the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), and Al Maktoum International Airport makes it a crucial component of Dubai’s objectives in vital industries including commerce, technology, and logistics.

Expo City is listed as one of five important urban centres in the plan, which is in line with the 2040 Dubai Urban Master Plan. The Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the emirate’s GDP by 2033, is also supported by it. Expo City and the ongoing development of the Dubai South area serve to further solidify Dubai’s position as a major international hub for trade and tourism.

The new worldwide offices of DEC and DP World will be located in Expo City Dubai, contributing to the city’s economic expansion. The Honourable Expo City will function as a hub for innovation and sustainability, fusing history with new possibilities, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised. The development includes a variety of resilient and sustainable commercial, residential, and recreational areas. 

The staged construction will monitor important performance metrics including wellness, economic growth, and biodiversity to make sure Expo City Dubai achieves its aim of being Net Zero by 2050 and to establish new standards for sustainable urban development.
