The Sobha Furniture facility represents a further development in the Sobha Group’s increased vertical integration.
Leading global developer of luxury real estate, Sobha Group, announced the opening of Sobha Furniture’s second plant. The company signed a land leasing deal with Dubai Industrial City (DIC), the premier industrial hub in the area, to construct a facility estimated to cost AED 450 million. The cutting-edge plant will be the biggest fully automated facility in the United Arab Emirates.
Since Sobha Group was founded in 1976 as a furniture-making and interior design company in Oman, the new facility represents a significant achievement for the company given its substantial industry expertise. Establishing Sobha Furniture’s plant in Dubai Industrial City isn’t simply a new endeavor—it’s a continuation of our long-standing dedication to excellence—given our rich history and legacy.
The developer aims to construct the most automated factory in the United Arab Emirates by using state-of-the-art technologies, showcasing their dedication to promoting innovation and quality in the industry. The plant, which occupies a 50,000 square meter built-up area on an 84,000 square meter land plot, will produce a variety of goods for the local and international markets, including couches, seats, armchairs, rockers, beds, car and airplane seats, and assembled and flat-pack cabinets.
As part of the UAE’s and Dubai’s unceasing efforts to support the regional industrial sector, Sobha Group has chosen Dubai Industrial City as its preferred site for this factory. This decision is in keeping with programs like “Make it In the Emirates,” which encourages a holistic environment.
By removing the need for imports, assisting in the reduction of lead times, lowering transportation costs and emissions, and serving medium- and high-segment customers who value high-quality and ethically manufactured products, Sobha Furniture hopes to further vertically integrate its business within the real estate group with this new facility.
