Early in the following year, the Ramhan Island and Jubail Island Interchange Works project’s design, supply, installation, construction, testing, and commissioning are anticipated to be completed by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT).
On September 8, 2023, the design and build contract tender was released, and on October 23, 2023, the bid submission date was set. Early in January 2024, the contract is anticipated to be given, a person with knowledge of the project’s specifics informed Zawya Projects.
The proposed interchange, according to him, will create a new, free-flowing, grade-separated interchange on the E12 highway to service upcoming developments on Ramhan Island and Jubail Island as well as the Ramhan Island Access Bridge. It will be situated on Jubail Island South along the Sheikh Khalifa Highway (E12) and Ramhan island.
According to a second source, Jubail Island South spans about 37 hectares and has the E12 Expressway running through its northeast corner. Ramhan Island is a about 270 hectare island. Ramhan Island is currently undeveloped, and there is no route connecting it to the E12 route.
The second source stated that the project is expected to be finished by the first quarter of 2026.
