One of the top luxury real estate developers in the Middle East, DAMAC Properties, has given Darwish Engineering Emirates LLC a contract worth AED 1.2 billion.
The contract covers 275 homes in the Venice cluster of its eagerly awaited third master community, DAMAC Lagoons, and includes the major works package.
Nearly AED 7 billion in contracts have been awarded so far for the master development. More than AED 1 billion in infrastructure contracts and more than AED 5.6 billion in villa development contracts have been granted to date. A testament to the project’s consistent construction momentum is the AED 2.4 billion in contracts that DAMAC alone granted in the first half of this year.
DAMAC’s General Manager of Projects, Muhammed Tahaineh, stated: “We are incredibly proud and thrilled to see the creation of our third and most prestigious master development. Since the project’s inception in 2021, we have made great progress, with an astonishing 20% of the 6,459 villas—spread across 13 clusters—well under way. We’ll continue to follow this development and guarantee delivery on schedule.
In addition, 1,025 villas (across 2 clusters) are in the last phases of design while 1,432 villas (across 2 clusters) are in the final stages of selecting the main contractor. The ground floor or above has already been reached by more than 2,600 villas.
Over 100 excavators and over 850 vehicles enter the site each day to support the project’s daily workforce of over 14,000 workers.
DAMAC Lagoons has astonishingly accrued over 19.6 million safe man-hours without experiencing a single lost time event, demonstrating its unshakable dedication to the security and welfare of its personnel.
DAMAC Lagoons, the company’s third master community development in the city, sits next to DAMAC Hills and covers an amazing 4.5 million square meters.
The development’s ideal location gives residents quick access to nearby hospitals, entertainment venues, and educational facilities.
DAMAC Lagoons will be separated into several clusters, each evoking the spirit of a prominent Mediterranean city, and will be heavily focused on water-inspired features with a Mediterranean theme. The clusters also consist of Ibiza, Malta, Marbella, Morocco, Monte Carlo, Mykonos, Costa Brava, Nice, Portofino, and Santorini in addition to Venice.
There will be more than 9,000 villas in the community, which has a total gross floor area (GFA) of 2.3 million square meters. More than 95% of the units that were released so far have been sold. The neighborhood will have 176,650 sq. m. of water spaces, which is larger than 141 Olympic-sized swimming pools and in keeping with the water-inspired theme. The community will be able to house more than 39,400 people once it is finished.
A wide range of amenities will be available at DAMAC Lagoons, including a private clubhouse, beautiful green meadows, retail stores, a floating amphitheatre, fitness centers, crystal lagoons, children’s play zones, an inland white beach, a water cinema, a wave pool, and a waterpark.
As part of DAMAC’s dedication to sustainability, the project is also presently working to earn a LEED Gold certification, with the goal of becoming one of the first master communities in the UAE to do so. This honor comes from the LEED Cities and Communities Rating System. From the initial design to construction and future operation, the development incorporates green and sustainable characteristics at every stage.
